Course Duration: The program is delivered in 440 hours over a period of 22 calendar weeks and with 4 weeks for term breaks over six months as a full time fee for service program. Students will have face to face tutoring of a minimum of 20 hours per week (not self paced or part time).
Course Information: Individuals with this qualification may work as a member of a salon team or co-ordinate the work in a salon.
- People who complete this qualification will likely manage a salon including the employment of staff.
- They will be required to provide leadership and support colleagues through the development and management of human resource development initiatives.
- Students completing this qualification may focus on building the business, leading and developing the team, developing and implementing marketing activities and ensuring all occupational health and safety requirements are maintained.
- The Diploma of Hairdressing Salon Management is designed to support the owners and managers of salons develop their skills and knowledge in relation to client services and sales delivery.
- The full qualification requires completion of 10 units of competence—6 core and 4 elective units.
Delivery Arrangements: The program is delivered off the job at our training centre. It combines face to face, facilitator led theory sessions and practical sessions in a simulated salon environment involving small groups and individual activities. Students are provided unit of competence reference materials with notes.
Assessment: Assessment is both formative (competency determined over a period of time and activity) and summative (competency determined immediately after session delivery). Competency determination is made after evidence gathered is based on a combination of classroom activities, question and answer activities and work based activities, including projects and practical application of skills and knowledge to real work. Training and assessment will be carried out as per timetable.
Qualifications: Students will receive Diploma of Hairdressing Salon Management with the successful completion of this training and assessment.

Entry Requirements:
Domestic Students
Pre-requisites for entry into this course are: Students must-
- be over 18 years of age,
- have completed Certificate IV in Hairdressing.
International Students
Pre-requisites for entry into this course are: Students must-
- be over 18 years of age,
- have completed Certificate IV in Hairdressing,
- have either an IELTS score of 5.5 or above or a TOEFL score of 550 or above.
